THE NUTCRACKER

Ballet Legato is excited to host its fifth annual production of The Nutcracker, choreographed by Executive Artistic Director, Jennifer Muselin.


This is a holiday classic and every child remembers their first Nutcracker and the beauty and wonderment of the Sugar Plum Fairy and her brave Cavalier.


All performers who are established in a dance curriculum, ages 5 & Up, are welcome to audition. Please email info@balletlegato.org to reserve your spot and arrive 30 min prior to audition time to fill out audition information. 


This is a commitment, please consider your schedule. Any issues, please speak with the Artistic Director PRIOR to auditioning.

Ballet Legato

Students Ages 5-7 10am-10:30am

Students Ages 8-10 10:45am-11:30am

Intermediate Dancers Ages 11 and Up 11:45am-12:45pm

Advanced Dancers 15 & Up 1:00pm-2:00pm. Dancers must be strong in ballet fundamentals and quick in learning choreography.

Advanced dancers may be asked to demonstrate pointe work for limited advanced roles.


PREPARATION: Please come with a dancer head shot to attach to the registration form. Does not need to be professional as you will not get these back.


Attire: Please come wearing a leotard, tights and ballet slippers. If you do not have ballet slippers, socks are perfectly acceptable. Hair must be up in a bun, if possible and off of face. Heavy performance makeup is not required.


$30 Per Person non-refundable audition fee paid by cash or check made payable to Ballet Legato.


***MANDATORY STUDENT PARENT MEETING***

Saturday, August 23rd, 12pm at the Ballet Legato Studios. All parents who have children under 18 must be in attendance.


If you are a professional dancer or college student interested in performing, please email to info@balletlegato.org with dance reel before August 15 and to discuss rehearsal scheduling and details.


Each scene will not be required every week and will be planned accordingly. Please DO NOT audition if you cannot make the full commitment to include rehearsals, assistance with fundraising, backstage children assistance and technical rehearsals the week of the show.

FRIDAY MORNING CHILDREN'S MATINEE PERFORMANCE AT STOCKER CENTER: 9:30AM-12PM

ALL advanced performers

Some younger performers will be asked to perform in this event at 11am for local area schools.


Performance will be held at the Stocker Arts Center's Hoke Theatre/Lorain County Community College, Elyria, Oh. on Saturday and Sunday, December 6-7th, 2025.

MIDSUMMER

PREMIER ADAPTATION OF William Shakespear's "A Midsummer Night's Dream." 

So what happens BEFORE the hubbub with  the fairy king, Oberon, and queen, Titania?  Why are they at odds? 


Welcome to the magical (and sometimes dramatic) idyllic world of the Fairies and all of the woodland creatures. A story for everyone!


All student performers who are established in a dance/gymnastics/acting curriculum, ages 7 & Up, are welcome to audition! Please email info@balletlegato.org to reserve your spot and arrive 30 min prior to audition time to fill out audition information.

You will not be required every weekend.  Please let us know of any scheduling issues upfront at auditions. 


MANDATORY TECH REHEARSALS AT Ballet will be listed.


Students MUST be present for  the  audition dates to be considered for the performance. NO EXCEPTIONS.


PERFORMANCE TECH REHEARSAL on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026 timesTBD. Tuesday and Wednesday, May 5th and 6th from 5-9pm.
